The fabric is beautiful and feels very high quality, though it is quite delicate and can pull easily, so it requires a bit of extra care. The gathered waistline and front slit were especially flattering and gave the dress a classic, elegant shape without feeling overly formal. I'm 5'7" with a more pear-shaped figure, and I ended up having the dress hemmed and the top taken in. After those alterations, the fit was just right.
